October 2007

1 - 2: Robert Tino's Smoky Mountain Homecoming
Robert Tino Gallery. Craftsmen will be dressed in period attire and perform their crafts such as working a sorghum press, making apple butter, antique equipment operations, stone grist milling and more. For the kids, their will be antique games that will teach them how children of a bygone era entertained themselves. Admission is FREE. Come early, listen to the music, enjoy the entertainment and learn about the Tennessee mountain heritage that has inspired Robert in his paintings. 6 - 7: Spur's Rodeo
Sevier County Fair Grounds hosts this general rodeo with calf roping, bull riding and bucking horses. Eight different classes compete with national points at stake. Call Mike Stalans at

7 - 10: Columbus Day Sidewalk Sale
Enjoy great savings at Tanger Five Oaks during the Columbus Day Sidewalk Sale.

21 - 23: 4th Annual Fall Festival
Quincy Farms. 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. each day. Don't miss the "Aw Shucks" cooking team with bar-b-que, corn on the cob and cold drinks. See antique engines, corn meal grinding, vintage tractors, blacksmithing, jewelry making, basket making, mule wagon rides, moccasin makers and many other crafters. 27 - 30: Sons of the Revolution "Battle of Boyd's Creek" Reenactment
This reenactment will be held at Major Hugh Henry's Estate. The General John Sevier Chapter of the Sons of the Revolution invite you to the 5th Annual Reenactment of Tennessee's Revolutionary War battle, the "Battle of Boyd's Creek." Experience a part of Native American, Tennessee and United States history as it is brought to life. Admission is FREE and donations will be accepted. 1 - February 28: 15th Annual Winterfest Celebration

6: 14th Annual Toys For Tots Ride
Thousands of motorcyclists ride to support the Toys for Tots foundation. Begins at the Smokies Stadium just off I-40 with registration from 9 am until noon when the engines rev and participants ride to Chilhowee Park. There they can enjoy entertainment, t-shirt sales and other activities from 1 pm-5 pm. To participate, bring a new, unwrapped toy or $10.00 per person.
